Thank you, Pavka, for capturing these wonderful moments during our incredible ten-day adventure! We had such a great time! I'm grateful for all the laughter, friendship, tolerance, and that peaceful feeling of being among kindred spirits. Until next time—hopefully soon! Now back home, reflecting on our five hikes along remote, deserted sections of the Great Wall of China. We traversed the endlessly winding wall, climbing and descending countless steps, making our way through narrow, jungle-like overgrown passages that were sometimes incredibly steep. The reward? Breathtaking views from above. We stayed in charming rural guesthouses, feasting on local Chinese cuisine. The Chinese beer proved quite good, though we kept accidentally encountering their infamous "pineapple" brandy (a local favorite we could have done without!). Thanks to "A Thousand Voyages" and Emo Doychinov for an incredible journey filled with unforgettable memories! The organization was impeccable. Iceland had been our dream destination for years. Though we typically plan trips independently, the costs of car rental and accommodations for two had always proved prohibitive. We discovered "A Thousand Journeys" through a Facebook post about boutique trips, and their "Almost Complete Tour of Iceland in the Summer" perfectly matched our wishlist. After two conversations with Emo and a quick email exchange, everything fell into place. He monitored weather forecasts and adjusted our itinerary to showcase Iceland's beauty and mystique at its finest. Beyond handling logistics like minibus driving, parking, and accommodation, Emo went above and beyond. Despite two days of typical Icelandic rain, we made the most of our time. He surprised us with countless unplanned stops, each more stunning than the last. By the final days, we trusted him completely to lead us to new wonders. We left refreshed and enriched, carrying memories of volcanoes, black beaches, glaciers, geysers, and charming villages. Our group was extraordinary—having a geologist and botanist among us, alongside Emo's expertise, created the perfect exploration team. We were delighted to discover that experiencing Iceland could be both magnificent and budget-friendly! The final surprise came when Emo shared a link to his professional photos.
